10 months later.....

HAH! I am terrible at blogging. I love to read other blogs and surf the net but I always fail at updating my own blog.

Third times a charm? Maybe?

So much has happened in the last 10 months but we'll just start fresh.

The next few months are going to be busy here.
 Brad has a couple of schools he has to go to before he heads to Bahrain this summer. He'll find out in May when he has to report there but we were told by July 1st. I will be honest, I am not looking forward to playing the single parent roll for a year.
I also wish that he was leaving sooner just so we could get it over with. We found out in November that he would be going there so the waiting and dreading him leaving just stinks!
I am planning a trip to Oregon and California to see family this summer so the boys and I have something to look forward to.

Countdown to vacation!

We booked tickets to Hawaii because they were such a great deal we couldn't pass it up! Tickets hardly go on sale from Kodiak so we were super excited to see them on sale to Hono. We'll be flying to Oahu then off to Maui for a 2 week Hawaii vacation:)
The weather the last week has been cold and rainy again but it is typical for May. I can't wait to sit on a hot beach and play in the ocean with the boys.

Spring is near

The last 6 days here have been sunny and beautiful. We spent every minute we could outside and grilled every day. We got lots of yard work done and Brad even built me another garden bed. I already have 2 raised beds but they are going to be full. The rain is starting back up today but that is ok because my house has been neglected.
I have been planning a Zumbathon Fundraiser and it is finally near. This Saturday is the big event and I really hope I have a great turn out. All of the money will be donated to womenforwomen.org.
We just got news that the author of A Thousand Sisters, Lisa Shannon will be coming back to Kodiak for the Run for Congo Women on Mother's Day! I am so excited to meet her and participate in the run.

Flat Stanley

The boys had fun with flat Stanley, My cousin Sarah from North Carolina sent him here for a school project. I hope he makes it back to her safe:) 

Vegan Recipe- Energy Cookies

I borrowed a cookbook from a friend that has some very yummy recipes in it called Vive le Vegan. The only thing missing from the recipe is the hemp seed nuts, the health store was out. These cookies are so good and won't last long.
